ZLATAR
Mount Zlatar is a densely wooded mountain (1,267 m) in the south-west of
Serbia. A balneological and tourist centre is situated on the north side of
the mountain, 4 km from the town of Nova Varos. At the altitude of 1.230
m.a.s.l. The local climate is Alpine, with cool summers and snowy winters.
The centre is well-connected with the rest of the country by tarmac and
railway, the nearest railway stations being in Prijepolje (25 km) and Priboj
(35 km).
MEDICAL INDICATIONS: cardiovascular diseases - high or low arterial
pressure, disorder of the peripheral arterial circulation, psychosomatic
conditions accompanying cardiovascular disorders, disrupted blood sugar and
cholesterol content, anaemia and general physical exhaustion. A team of
doctors of the Institute for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular
Diseases and Rehabilitation applies the latest treatment and rehabilitation
methods. The fascilities at the Institute include a fitness room, indoor
swimming pool, hydro and electrical therapy, kinesitherapy and occupational
therapy facilities, a bowling alley, billiard-room, open-air sports grounds
and an obstacle course.

EXCURSION: to Nova Varos, Prijepolje, the Mileseva Monastery , Mount
Zlatar, lakes on the rivers Lim and Uvac. |
