Boskov still an optimist

Despite bad playing during the Asian tour, manager Vujadin Boskov expects success of Yugoslav national football team in the European championship.

In this tour, the national team played four matches. They beat China in Beijing with 2:0, they had draw result twice with the representation of South Korea in Seoul - 0:0 and they were beaten by Hong Kong selection with 4:2.

Manager holds that in the latest match with Hong Kong, one could notice fatigue of the players, who gathered after difficult championships they participated in Europe. Moreover, the adaptation to weather and temperature differences had its way.

After coming to Belgrade, Boskov said, the players will have two days of resting. On Wednesday, June 7th, Boskov will hold the first training after the tour, and on Thursday the representation leaves for Belgium, where they start the European championship on June 13th with a match against Slovenia.

Boskov expects success on European championship, because the Yugoslav representation is consisted of "great football players, who play in big clubs", who will now "adapt themselves into a strong team".

The manager also said that he has not yet chosen "the eleven players" for the first match, because there are still some tactics to be discussed for the matches to come".

Boskov is satisfied with the output of Mihajlovic and Djukic in defense and with the defense of goalkeepers Cicovic and Kralj. Due to good plays in the Asian tour, Yugoslav team manager is seriously considering to put Mateja Kezman among the first eleven players.
