Spanish players youngest,
Slovenians and Norwegians debutantes



The last time when national teams of Yugoslavia and Spain clashed was in 1990, in World Cup eighth-finals in Italy. The "blue team" won after overtime with 2:1. Dragan Stojkovic, who will also be the member of national team in the forthcoming European Championship, scored both goals for Yugoslavia.





Spain was European Champion in 1964. Yugoslavia was two times runner-up (1960, 1968), while national teams of Norway and Slovenia are debutants in the European Championship.





Present Spain's coach, Jose Antonio Camacho, played for Real Madrid and Slovenia's coach, Srecko Katanec, played for Sampdoria Genova. Both teams were coached by Vujadin Boskov who is present Yugoslav national team manager.





Yugoslav and Slovenian national teams have not clashed so far.





In regard to the average players` age (26.5), Spain has the youngest national team in the European Championship. Yugoslavia is the third oldest team in the Championship, with the average age 28.41.
