Yugoslav goalkeeper Sostar had a few glorious saves |
Today Yugoslavia has defeated the USA national team in the second round in the B group of the Olympic tournament water polo with the score of 8:5 (3:1, 2:2, 2:1, 1:1).
Yugoslav water polo national team has continued with successful performances at the Olympic Games, defeating today, deservedly and convincingly, USA national team. Our national team functioned perfectly.
The Yugoslav team had, apart from the very beginning of the match, when it was 1:1,the advantage of two to three goals until the last beep. Unpassable Vujasinovic directed our team's firm defence, goalkeeper Sostar simply "killed" the opponents wish to score, while Sapic and Ikodinovic were the insoluble problem to the American goalkeeper Hacket.Sostar had to the end of the second quarter a great intervention, when Credel tried to score from the distance of only two meters.
