Sinisa Mihajlovic

Rome, March 1 (Tanjug) - The latest winning goal scored by Sinisa Mihajlovic brings Lazio closer to winning the Italian Champion title, but it also calls attention of Italian sport public, commentators and statisticians to perhaps the most complete football player in "Calcio" at the moment.

The Yugoslav national team player, by scoring the goal in the match yesterday against Vicenza, reached the record of the legendary player Zola in the number of goals scored from free kicks, but statisticians reveal underneath Mihajlovic's limelight a less known fact - at the moment he is the most efficient defence player in Italian championship.

Mihajlovic and Batistuta (Fiorentina)

Sinisa Mihajlovic brought again a win to his team Lazio, which is now at the top of the Italian "A League" with 48 points, 4 points ahead of Parma, placed second and Fiorentina, placed third, heading toward the winning of the national champion title in, as it seems, unstoppable pace.

"Corriere de lo Sport" glorifies Mihajlovic's thunderous free kicks, for which he has already made it into the history of "Calcio", but the paper states that Sinisa deserves also a high mark for his "ardent plays in defence".

Mihajlovic and Bierhof (Milan)

That is being confirmed by the latest statistics: Mihajlovic takes the first place for steals (646), while the second and third placed are two players from Parma - Thyram (626)and Canavaro (599).

The Yugoslav national team player, according to precise statisticians, takes the high second place for assists, which rounds up the score of probably the most valuable player in "Calcio" today.
