HANDBALL:
Yugoslavia - Croatia 30:23

Nenad Perunicic (Yugoslavia) scored 10 goals against Croatia

Ismailia, Egypt, June 9 - Yugoslavia placed itself into the quarter-finals at the 16th Men's Handball World Championship after beating Croatia in eight-finals in Ismailia with 30:23 (15:9).

Yugoslavia deserved to place itself after a very good play during the match between the best eight teams of the world.

A duel with Croats was unexpectedly easy job for players chosen by selector Zoran Zivkovic. The team played without mistake, and guards Perunovic, Jovanovic and Lisicic, as well as goalkeeper Peric especially did the great job. From the other side, a strong, moving defense was a wall that Croats rarely succeeded to break.

From the 20th minute of the match, the "blue fellows" didn't drop the advantage of 5-6 goals. Their superiority was visible every time Croats tried to use the opportunity. So, since the middle of the second half it was obvious that Croatian handball players gave up serious resistance.

Yugoslavia will play against Germany in the quarter-finals on June 11 in Cairo.
