Using deflated balls against Mihajlovic's shots

Italian press published today that the hosts are trying to sneak not well inflated balls into matches versus Lazio, in order to mitigate the speed and strength of Mihajlovic's "missiles" - Yugoslav football ace candidate for "Golden ball"

Rome, November 11 (from Tanjug's correspondent Marinela Raznatovic) - Sinisa Mihajlovic scored 20 goals from free kicks in strongest football league in the world. The evident thing is the fear of goalkeepers in Italian league from the left foot of defense player of Lazio from Rome and Yugoslav national team player, who is considered to be the best free-kick performer in Europe.

That fear, write the Italian magazines, made some teams, when play with Lazio, try to sneak into the match not well inflated balls, in order to mitigate the speed, strength and preciseness of Mihajlovic's "missiles".

Besides all sport magazines, the eminent Italian daily newspapers like "IL Messaggero" and "La Repubblica" wrote about that. The titles were "Deflated balls, cure against Mihajlovic's free kicks" or "varieties" on such statement.

Dangerous in offensive,
emphatic in defence

Mihajlovic draw attention for two reasons. The first one is his irreproachable free kicks performance, and the second one is perfect defense play. He is, as the "Corriere della Sport" newspaper said, the player who can endanger in most dangerous way the goalkeeper of Roma, but he is the main obstacle for the shooters of the city rivals.

The magazines say that all rivals' tactics appeared to be useless in attempts of turning the ball away from its straight direction towards goal. That's why they tried to resort to shrewdness by using deflated balls. Even Mihajlovic said that the ball is almost always deflated whenever Lazio is a guest.

The Yugoslav national team player also complained that the rival's wall is rarely placed on proper distance. They place themselves always closer, so I have to practice free kick from 6.5 meters distance, and not 9.15 meters, explains Mihajlovic.

In an interview to daily newspaper "Tempo", the Yugoslav national team player said that he keeps on practicing the kick with the right leg, which is much weaker that the left one. "Sooner or later I'm going to make my right leg kick perfect", said Mihajlovic.

The sport experts in Italy say that there is no better free kick performer from Sinisa Mihajlovic in the world. This recognition as well as great matches played for Lazio and Yugoslav national team made Mihajlovic become a candidate for "Golden ball".

Mihajlovic's coach, Swedish Swen Goran Erixon, said that he had no dilemma on who should win this biggest football recognition. "I would give the Golden ball right away to Sinisa".

Many football experts as well as players, and not only in Italy supported the opinion of eminent expert. The candidacy of Mihajlovic was also not denied by famous Diego Maradona.
