Three medals for Yugoslavia

On European table-tennis Championship, which was held from April 21st to May 1st in German town Bremen, Yugoslavia won three medals, one gold and two silver ones.

Aleksandar Karakasevic together with Lithuanian Ruta Garkauskatite- Budine won, in mixed doubles, the gold medal. They beat in the finals Yugoslav Ilija Lupulescu and Swede Maria Svensson 2-0 in sets (21-19, 21-12).

Lupulescu won one more medal for Yugoslavia in men's doubles. He and Greek Kreanga were defeated in the finals by a French double Patric Chila - Philip Gatien. The score was 21-15, 21-12.

Regarding the number of medals won on European table-tennis Championship in Bremen, Yugoslavia, in competition with 46 countries, took the fifth place.
