FREE THROWS: Scavolini 82% (19/23), PARTIZAN 76% (13/17).
2P FG: Scavolini 49% (22/45), PARTIZAN 59% (19/32).
3P FG: Scavolini 29% (7/24), PARTIZAN 61% (14/21).
REBOUNDS: Scavolini 27 (16+11), PARTIZAN 26 (22+4).
PERSONAL FOULS: Scavolini 27, PARTIZAN 26.

After a 26-25 first quarter, Partizan's late surge put them in the driving seat before the interval, and they soon built up an 11-point lead (45-56) with only 2 minutes gone in the third quarter. Scavolini then went on their best stretch of the night by playing better defence, going on a 20-7 run that put them ahead 65-63 with less than 2 minutes to play in the third quarter, and Bulatovic was whistled for his fourth foul. Markovic answered Scavolini's lead with one of Partizan's 14 three-pointers (on 23 attempts), and the quarter ended with the Partizan up by one, 67-68.

Scavolini missed their first three attempts, and Petrovic capped a 9-0 Partizan run with a three-pointer from the left corner to put his team up by 9, 67-76 with 7'45" left in the game. Having seen his other offensive weapon, Canak, foul out with 6'58" left, and Markovic pick up his 4th foul soon after, Partizan coach Darko Ruso ordered a 2-3 zone defence which was beaten by Marko Tusek's three-point shot which brought Scavolini within 6 points at 73-79. Then Johnson took advantage of Glintic's inexperience by driving to the basket. That cut Partizan's lead to 4 points at 75-79, Petrovic and Tusek again traded 3-pointers, and Bulatovic scored from down low for Partizan's 6-point lead at 78-84.

Johnson then stepped out of bounds while trying to dribble around Glintic on the baseline, but he made up for it with a defensive steal, which caused Glintic his 4th foul. The teams traded misses. Traina misfired twice from way out after coming on the court for the first time on the night, then converted a breakaway dunk which cut Partizan's advantage to 80-84 with 2'55" to go. But Beric sank another 3-pointer, and Tusek missed from long range. Booker converted (82-87), then immediately fouled Petrovic who sank both free throws (82-89). When Booker missed a hurried 3-point attempt the game was effectively over.

Antwerpen, Belgium, January 6th - Second-leg match of the Saporta Cup eight-finals played tonight in Belgium town of Antwerpen between the host team Telindus and Belgrade Red Star, suddenly ended after two quarters due to the fight which broke out between the players of the two teams.

The incident occurred after the scuffle between Red Star's playmaker Sasa Stefanovic and Telindus` guard Stefan Sappenberghs.

In the last seconds of the second quarter, Telindus` coach Tony Van der Bosch entered the court and attacked Red Star player Sasa Stefanovic. That was the signal for all players on the Belgium bench to enter the court, and all Yugoslav team players did the same in order to protect their teammate. Immediately after, Red Star players were attacked by fans of the host team, but they were saved by the Yugoslavs, who watched the game. Thus, there were no injured players in Belgrade team after the incident. Referees Alzuria (Spain) and Mantila (Finland) ejected 19 players and stopped the match.

FIBA will make a final decision about the match. The host refused to give a videotape with the happenings on the court.

Extremely bad play in the first minutes of the match (Real took 10-1 lead) indicated the defeat of Buducnost. Players of the Yugoslav champion were completely ill-disposed to play, which was proved by very bad free throws percentage (17/34 - 50%).

Only Dejan Tomasevic justified his MVP player of the Euroleague title. In the team from Madrid, the best player was its playmaker, Yugoslav Aleksandar Djordjevic (14 points), who skillfully led his team towards triumph.

Buducnost from Podgorica gained a difficult victory against Muller, in the last round of the regular season, and got into the playoffs as the third-placed team from the Group D.

The next play ended in a missed three-pointer by Obradovic with only one minute to go. The victory seemed to have gone to Verona, but Conlon missed a three-pointer and in the next offensive play, Radonjic became the hero of the game with a three-pointer that made 75-72 and led the way to the final margin.

PAOK Thessaloniki (GREECE) - BUDUCNOST Podgorica (YUGOSLAVIA) 89-72 (21-12, 23-20, 24-20, 21-20)

PAOK: Liadelis 28, Sigalas 8, Koronios 17, Daineko, Giannoulis 25, Coldebella 8, Cargol, Racca 3.

BUDUCNOST: Rakocevic 9, Vukcevic 8, Kuzmanovic 5, Tomasevic 13 (12 rebounds), Topic 15, Obradovic 8, Radonjic, Milojevic 6, James 6.

PAOK ruined the debuts of new Buducnost coach Bogdan Tanjevic and center Jerome James on by winning their Group D showdown 89-72, a margin big to have impact well beyond this week.

PAOK left nothing to chance on Wednesday as it stormed to a double-digit lead in the first two minutes and didn't let Buducnost get any closer than six the rest of the way.

Three PAOK scorers - Panagiotis Liadelis, Yannis Giannoulis and Evangelos Koronios - proved too much for the Buducnost defense to handle.

Meanwhile, the Buducnost offense wasn't giving itself, nor the new inside combination of center Jerome James with Euroleague leading performer Dejan Tomasevic, much of a chance.
