Russia - Yugoslavia 1-1 (5-6 on penalties)

Moscow, RUSSIA, May 19 - Having beaten Russia 6-5 on penalties, Yugoslav national football team took third place at the LG Cup in Moscow.

Real Sociedad striker Darko Kovacevic gave Yugoslavia the lead on the 54th minute after pass by Predrag Mijatovic.

Spartak Moscow striker Sychev, who is the leading goalscorer in the Russian first division, was in lively mood and he snatched the equaliser three minutes from time after beating the offside trap.

In the penalty shoot-out Yugoslavia's striker Mihajlo Pjanovic hit the bar, while Yugoslavia's goalkeeper Dragoslav Jevric saved penalties by Onopko and Kovtun.

Scorers: Dmitriy Sichev 87 for Russia; Darko Kovacevic 54 for Yugoslavia. Penalty shoot-out: 0-0 Pjanovic (hit the bar), 1-0 Karpin, 1-1 Djordjevic, 2-1 Alenichev, 2-2 Koroman, 2-2 Onopko (Jevric saved), 2-3 Milosevic, 3-3 Sichev, 3-4 Kezman, 4-4 Nikiforov, 4-5 Ilic, 5-5 Kerzhakov, 5-6 Mirkovic, 5-6 Kovtun (Jevric saved).
