New champions demolish Sutjeska

Belgrade, June 5 (Reuters) - Partizan, who had secured the Yugoslav champions title a few rounds ago, stunned 6-1 Sutjeska in an away match in the final day of the national championship. Red Star, who have earlier claimed the Yugoslav Cup, are the domestic championship runners-up and Sartid are on third. Fourth-placed Obilic will participate in the Intertoto Cup.

As for those relegated, Mladost Apatin, Radnicki Kragujevac and Zvezdara have long secured a second division spot whereas six other teams faced the prospect of relegation. Cukaricki trailed Red Star 3-0 at the half time. Obilic were well on their way to a draw with Mladost Lucani with just 5 minutes to go. Zemun defeated 1-0 OFK Beograd in an away tie. Rad also claimed a 2-0 victory against Zeleznik and Vojvodina defeated Rudar 3-0. Hajduk drew 1:1.

Cukaricki nursed the hope of clinging to a first division spot, but then events took a dramatic turn. Obilic, who had advantage all through the match, netted twice during the last 5 minutes dooming Mladost Lucani to relegation. Red Star defeated Cukaricki. Meanwhile Radnicki Obrenovac, Radnicki Nis, Javor Ivanjica and Mogren will perform in the first league next season.
