Victims of the Albanian terrorism in Kosovo-Metohija (Killed, kidnapped, and missing persons, January 1998 - November 2001)

(Committee for Collecting Data on Crimes Committed Against Humanity and International Law - compiled by Judge Ilija Simic and Committee associates)

The list of the victims of Albanian terrorism is a selection from the documentation of the Committee for Collecting Data on Crimes Committed Against Humanity and International Law, compiled in Kosovo-Metohija between January 1998 and November 2001. This documentation was collected by the committee, and contains evidence given by witnesses and relatives of the missing and killed, forensic, video, and photo materials, as well as data collected by other bodies and organisations, including the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Yugoslav Army, the Association of the Families of Missing and Kidnapped Persons from Kosovo-Metohija, the Yugoslav Red Cross, and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The data presented here cannot be regarded as complete, since the committee has encountered serious difficulties in contacting many non-Albanians who remained on the territory of Kosovo-Metohija after the arrival of KFOR on June 10, 1999, and since some of the documentation of the Serbian police and judicial organs disappeared during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. There are also a number of citizens of Kosovo-Metohija who lost all hope and trust in state organs, due to the misfortunes they had lived through, and have therefore decided not to report the disappearance of their relatives.
