Kenyan Joyce Chepchumba claimed the women's title in the 33rd running of one of the world's premier road races.

Lyubov Denisova of Russia, this year's Los Angeles Marathon winner, was weakened by slight side pains, and finished second in 2:26:17.

Jevtic was third despite cutting and bruising her elbows and knees after a collision with Australia's Kerryn McCann at the 22-mile mark

"I don't know how much time I lost, but I did lose my rhythm," Jevtic said. "But this is my first Marathon, and I was happy to be able to stay in the race.
