Serbian Police arrest another Zemun Gang leader

Belgrade, March 15, 2003 - Serbian Ministry of Interior said today that police have arrested one of the Zemun Gang's leaders, Mladjan Micic, along with several members of his group.

Micic, aka 'Pacov' (Rat), or the 'Big Boss from Smoljinac', was captured in the village of Smoljinac, where his collaborators were hiding him. Several other members of his group were also detained: Sasa Stojkovic, aka 'Fuksa'; Radovance Miljkovic, aka 'Ranac'; Dejan Zivanovic, aka 'Jumba'; Mladen Pavlovic; Jovica Jankovic; and Radostan Zivkovic.

At apartments and houses where the arrested were hiding, the police found and seized weapons, ammunition, night-vision goggles, and several registration plates in illegal possession as well as a number of luxury cars (a Ferrari, Audi A6, BMW, Opel Sintra, Volkswagen Golf 4), all in the ownership of the Zemun Gang.

In line with the Order on special measures to be applied during the state of emergency, Serbian police, in cooperation with neighbouring countries' police forces, continue their intensive manhunt for other leaders and members of organised criminal groups.
