To my good friend, struggler for democracy and peace in our Balkans and for European Serbia a last goodbye.

Walter Schwimmer (Council of Europe Secretary-General)

I knew Zoran Djindjic in tough times and in good times - moments of triumph and times of tragedy. For me, he was first a friend. I saw him through the eyes of our family times together. He was above all else a true Serbian patriot in the very best sense. He had a vision for the future of Serbia and the Serbian people and never deviated from his determination to bring it about. He died for that vision. And I knew he was aware that death could be sudden and violent for him. I also know that it would never change his determination to move forward. I will miss him. I will his intellect, his wisdom, his energy and his smile. I also believe that his death will give renewed strength and courage to his friends and others who will work to bring a better life to Serbia and its people.

William Montgomery (US Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro)

To a great man who led his country into a new world. The EBRD pays its tribute to his courageous reform program and to his foundation on which the people should continue.
God bless

Olivier Descamps (EBRD Regional Director)

Zoran was unreplacable firend and partner in a common challenge to win - Europeanize the Balkans through bilateral and global initiatives. God bless his deed and let this mission be fulfilled by all of us together. Amen!

Prime Minister Djindjic was a politician, who actively worked on establishing friendly relations between the two democratic and friendly states, Serbia and Slovenia. Not only me, but also the citizens of Slovenia are appalled by this hideous act of terrorism. We've lost a friend, we've lost a statesman, with whom we were searching for paths to build a new Europe. On behalf of Slovenia, on my personal behalf, I express my deepest condolences for the death of Prime Minister Djindjic.
