Serbia, UNMIK agree on ethnic Albanians' bodies handover

Pristina / Kursumlija, May 2, 2003 - The Serbian Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija and UNMIK have agreed on the handover of identified mortal remains of ethnic Albanians exhumed in the Belgrade suburb of Batajnica.

Head of the Coordinating Centre's Office for Kidnapped and Missing Persons, Gvozden Gagic, said that 51 bodies have been identified so far, and added that the handover will take place at the administrative border crossing between Kosovo and Serbia proper near the village of Merdare on May 8, the Beta news agency reported.

Gagic also said that the rest of the bodies exhumed in Petrovo Selo, Perucac, and Batajnica are in the process of identification, adding that the terms for their handover will be agreed with UNMIK afterwards.
