Four persons arrested for giving and accepting bribes

Belgrade, Dec 8, 2003 - Belgrade police arrested and brought before an investigative judge, the senior official of the Institute for Construction of the City of Belgrade Predrag Janjic and Institute's architect Dusan Pacic, for accepting bribes, together with Stevan Acimovic and Director of the Tresnja Company Zivomir Radosavljevic, for giving bribes, the Belgrade Secretariat of Interior said in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, during 2001 and 2002 Janjic, as architect-in-chief of the Institute, on various occasions accepted bribes totalling 10,000 Deutche marks, $2,000 and €2,750, in order to carry out or accelerate the performance of tasks which he was obliged to carry out as part of his regular working duties.

Janjic and Pacic are also suspected of soliciting and accepting bribes from the Director of the Tresnja company Zivomir Radosavljevic, worth €23,748, for designing and issuing zoning permits.
