Austrian Chancellor Schuessel pledges donation to Zoran Djindjic Foundation

Vienna, Jan 22, 2004 - Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel met with Ruzica Djindjic, the wife of late Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, in Vienna on Thursday to make a €15,000 donation to the Zoran Djindjic Foundation, promising to continue assisting the project.

Ruzica Djindjic, who is on a three-day humanitarian visit to Vienna, also met with Vienna Mayor Michael Haeupl and Margot Klestil-Löffler, the wife of Austrian President Thomas Klestil. The late Prime Minister's wife is also scheduled to meet with Austrian Minister of Integration Renate Brauner on Friday.

The Austrian Chancellor said that Zoran Djindjic was not only a colleague, but also a friend, adding that he will continue to maintain friendship with the late Prime Minister's family.

As part of the visit, Ruzica Djindjic received €6,850 in assistance for mentally disturbed children in Belgrade. The funds were raised at last year's Bazaar organised by the United Nations Women's Guild (UNWG).
