Families of Kosovo missing meet with Brovina

Flora Brovina and Simo Spasic

Pristina, Jan 29, 2004 - Members of the Association of Families of Missing Serbs urged the Kosovo's Assembly Commission for Missing Persons to take more active part in discovering the whereabouts of the missing.

Commission President Flora Brovina told the families of the missing that the Commission is working on tracing the persons who went missing and were kidnapped during the 1999 Kosovo conflict, regardless of their religious and ethnic affiliation. However, she reminded the association representatives that the KFOR and UNMIK assumed responsibility for the safety in the province after the conflict

Association's Coordinator Simo Spasic said that the Kosovo Assembly's Commission should do much more to trace the missing Serbs, especially those who disappeared after the arrival of the international forces in 1999.
