Body of Momcilo Milic handed over to family members

Merdare, March 5, 2004 - Representative of UNMIK's Office on Missing Persons and Forensics handed over the mortal remains of Momcilo Milic, 49, to his family members at the administrative border crossing in Merdare on Friday.

Slavisa Dobricanin, the head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija's bureau for exhumations and identifications, said that Milic was kidnapped in Djakovica in 1999. His body was uncovered in Djakovica, said Dobricanin, adding that forensic analysis showed that he was shot in the temple.

According to the Coordinating Centre data, a total of 273 bodies have been exhumed in the province so far, with 95 bodies identified and mortal remains of 73 persons handed over to their families.
