Kings clinch no. 1 seed

Stojakovic drives against Michael Olowokandi (Clippers)

Los Angeles, USA, April 12 (Ticker) - Chris Webber scored 28 points and Predrag "Peja" Stojakovic added 27 as Sacramento clinched the Pacific Division title and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs with a 125-106 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Doug Christie had 20 points for the Kings (60-19), who shot 61 percent while running their winning streak to 11.

The Kings secured their first division title since moving to Sacramento and their fifth overall. With their 60th victory, they are the first team to reach that mark since the Los Angeles Lakers in 1999-2000.

Sacramento (60-19) also clinched the best record in the NBA. The last time the franchise finished the regular season with the best mark was the 1951-52 season, when the Rochester Royals went 41-25. The Royals won the Western Division by one game over the Minneapolis Lakers but lost to them in the Western Division Finals, 3-1, failing to defend their lone NBA title.

Doug Christie scored 20 points and Vlade Divac added 12 and 10 rebounds for Sacramento, which extended its overall winning streak to 11 games and club-record road run to nine.

Elton Brand scored 24 points and Michael Olowokandi added 21 for Los Angeles, which was eliminated from playoff contention Monday. The Clippers lost for the eighth time in their last 10 games.
